A very expensive Pinto Bean

Well, on Wednesday, when I was having contractions and taking a rest to try to get them to calm down, my 3 year old decided to get adventurous. He came to me and said ow mommy and pointed to his nose. I looked in there and to my much astonishment there was a pinto bean stuck up in there! He's never done that before. So I jump up and try to remove it myself, but he was not holding still for me and it was just getting worse. I called the doctor's office and they got us an appointment to see a family doctor. I raced to Kaysville and we waited at the doctor's. The doc had very long tweazers, but couldn't pull out the bean, it would just keep slipping out of the tweazers and getting higher. So then he sent us to see a nose, ear and throat specialist.

Meanwhile, Russ had left work to help me out. Good thing we had because while we were waiting at the specialist, I decided it was time to get myself to the doctors to figure out what was going on with these contractions. So while my family was on the west wing removing a very expensive pinto bean, I went to the east wing to try to find my doctor. Russ ended up taking the kids back to work with him to finish up some stuff at work, while I admitted myself to the hospital. After work he dropped the kids off at his parents and came up to the hospital to wait there with me the rest of the night. It was definitely a very adventurous night! Hope we don't ever have to repeat that. Don't worry, the pinto beans are now put up very high in the pantry.

Looking back on the whole situation, it was probably a blessing that Mason did that, because it forced me to be in the very clinic that I needed to be in to make sure the twins were okay. I'm so sad that he had to go through that, next time I'll try not to be so stubborn and just go in on my own accord!!

Once upon a time my mom worked at a little place called USF and we lived in an apartment complex called College Ave.... well, some how I found an eraser (off the top of a pencil, not those attachable ones) and stuck it up my nose. We went to the ER and had an adventure. 20 some odd years later.... I found myself in the same work place and living place... with kids of my own.... I made sure there were NEVER erasers around!
