Russ and Makell to go fishing!

So, as you know, Makell is in soccer right now. Her friend TJ, on her team and in her kindergarten class was told by his dad at the beginning of the season that if he made a goal, his dad would take him fishing. Well, Makell overheard this and decided she wanted that wager too. So, she asked her daddy and of course he said yes, thinking he was never ever going to have to take her fishing! Well, on Tuesday night, as luck would have it, she was at the right place at the right time, the ball was right there in front of her, she kicked it hard and sure enough she made a goal!! I would like to say that her parents immediately cheered for her and yelled out good job, but I have to admit our first reaction was "oh no, did she just make that goal? Yea, I think it was her, oh no, now I've got to take her fishing and I don't even know how!" After the first few seconds of shock and horror past us, we got our act together and yelled out to her good job! She was grinning so big and came running over to us and said, Daddy do I get to go fishing now and he said yes, we do!! So, I guess they will attempt it tomorrow for a few hours. Hopefully they will have a good time and she won't get too grossed out! I think if they do catch some fish, they just throw them back so they don't have to kill them. Should be interesting for both of them, but I'm so grateful for a husband who's willing to try new things for his kids. Who knows, maybe it will turn out to be a fun hobby for them.
